Celtics Win The Opener

The Celtics had a 23 point lead in the 4th quarter and barely came away with a win against the Brooklyn Nets. I’m sure many people had the Celtics to cover the spread (-11) and weren’t happy with the way things ended.

One positive on the night was the addition of Al Horford. He finished with 11 points 5 rebounds and had 4 blocked shots in the first half. The offense should continue to put up big numbers with him on the pick n roll.

The bench played well in spurts but the fact they couldn’t close out the game with the starters on the bench was concerning. If the team wasn’t on the back to back in Chicago tonight they would have closed things out. Rookie Jaylen Brown also looked impressive on the defensive end and finished with 9 points.

The Celtics take on Rajon Rondo, Dwayne Wade, Jimmy Butler and the Bulls tonight in Chicago.
